Could be a photo of Shakespeare as well, couldn´t it? :D Though it´s the only portrait of Pöe anyways, everybody has to take it for serious!

Wow, great work, Marc.
Lol, just bought the complete tales and poems by Edgar Allan Poe recently, all though I was already a bit famliar with some of his tales from my youth.
Nice to see you let some of them come together in this picture...

Ha! So do I! I think he's most known for them, but he did some other nice stuff as well.
But it's quite a thick book: the paperback version I got got over 1000 pages, so it can keep me busy for quite a while! ;-)

One story that was told back when I was a kid was the chemist with the beautiful wife. She was perfect except for a birth mark on her cheek, and he was obsessed with getting rid of it. Everyday he would work away in his lab for a formula that would fade her birthmark, and at night he would have her drink it to no avail. Time goes by, but he never gets rid of the mark on her milky white cheek, working every day tirelessly to come up with the perfect elixir to finally make her birth mark disappear, every night she drank his new formula to no avail. Then one night he turns to her after she drank the formula, and he hands her the mirror, "It's disappearing!!!", and it finally faded away, and she died in his arms. I bet you saw that coming.

Nice!
The stories I remembered most from my youth are 'Tell-Tale Heart' (a murderer finally reveals himself to the police, because he hears the heart of his victim beat louder and louder) and, how could I forget, 'The Oval Portrait'.
The latter being about a painter, so obsessed with the beauty of his bride, that he wants to paint her portrait.
As the portrait comes closer to the end, showing his patient, sweet bride, so full of life, she has become a mere shadow of her former self.
And yes, as expected, with his last stroke, when he cries out 'This is indeed Life itself!', he finally turns to his bride... to find her dead.
Bet you saw that one coming as well! ;-)
Hahaha, I'm a sucker for sad love stories, I guess...

The Tell-Tale Heart is one of his most popular, and well known stories.

Ah, okay!
Didn't know that.
Ha, it will be fun to read all those 'new' and old stories again.
If I could only find the time... ;-)

Outstanding!  Poe is one of my favorite authors.  I remember when I was very young reading his reference to sleep as "those little slices of death."  I swear, I didn't sleep more than 4 hours at a time for a year.  lol

This is marvelously done (as always), and the collaboration is seamless.  You can't tell where one starts and the other ends.  Bravo!

It's a fantastic finished collaboration.!!So beautifully dark.....Like Poe's mind it is full of the most imaginative stories and wonderful images .The convoluted wormlike shapes coming from the raven's mouth is a wonderful way of spreading Poe's thoughts .It's an amazing mixture of truth and fiction...It has made me want to read some more of his work...!!!!!!
